My Boyfriend Came Back From the War (1996)
Description: Created in 1996, this pioneering net art piece explores themes of love, war, and memory through the medium of the web. This iconic work was one of the first to utilize hypertext and the web as an art medium, taking the form of a fragmented, interactive narrative. The story is displayed across multiple web pages, with each click leading to a new part of the story. The work invites viewers to navigate a visual and textual representation of emotional and psychological distance, symbolizing the disjointed nature of online communication.
